A life in music

Sabiha — credited on some soundtracks as Sabeeha — is a singer from Kadapa (Cuddapah), Andhra Pradesh. Her public story begins on Padutha Theeyaga, the ETV singing show that S. P. Balasubrahmanyam hosted and judged from 1996. She is a Padutha Theeyaga finalist from its debut season, among a field the show would go on to send into Telugu playback careers.

Her own recording career surfaced a decade later, in 2011, with Kodipunju. Since then her voice has moved between commercial Telugu cinema, chorus and re-recording work across a long list of productions, and private and devotional recordings released independently — a working singer’s path, built one session at a time rather than a single breakout hit.

In 2021 she returned to the show that first placed her on record, singing solo numbers and a duet on Padutha Theeyaga Aanati Apurupaalu, the series’ nostalgic revival. Most recently, she has recorded for M. M. Keeravani on Chandramukhi 2 — a full-circle session, twenty-five years after she was a Padutha Theeyaga finalist on a Sunday-night talent show. In 2026 she sang “Made In India Ladies” for Happy Journey, composed by Shekar Chandra.

For years, the earliest confirmed recording on record was 2018. Cross-checking soundtrack listings for Kodipunju (2011) turned up a “Chitti Chitti” credit under “Sabeeha” — quietly pushing her documented career back by seven years.
